PARIS, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Convicted terrorist Carlos the Jackal is appealing to a European court that his human rights were violated for eight years in a French prison.
Carlos, whose real name is Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, claims he was kept in a small room by himself for 22 hours a day between 1994 and 2002.

He said he got a two-hour walk daily.
The BBC reports the 56-year-old Venezuelan is appealing to the European Court of Human Rights that the French violated his rights.
He is serving a life sentence for killing two French agents and an informer.
A lower court denied his claim last year.
Carlos is thought to be behind other bombings, assassinations and kidnapping throughout the world before being captured.
