Russians say they foiled Chechen plot

GROZNY, Russia, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Russian security officials say they uncovered plans for a series of bombings by Chechen separatists on the eve of Chechnya's parliamentary elections.

One alleged terrorist was killed in a raid on a house in the village of Katur-Yurt, the Itar-Tass news agency reported. Investigators said they found evidence that the dead man was an expert on explosives, and several homemade bombs were found on the premises.
