SALEM, N.J., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- A New Jersey middle school student has been suspended after school officials were told of a "hit list" with several names on it.
School officials said they reported it to police Monday but no charges have been filed yet, the Salem Sunbeam reports.

Salem Police Department Lt. Bill Madara said the student was emotionally disturbed but he and school officials don't think anyone is in danger.
He said many of the names on the list were made up.
There will be increased security at Salem Middle School for Thursday.
