TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The Israeli army completed its withdrawal Tuesday from four settlements in the northern West Bank.
Last month Israel evacuated the settlers and their supporters from all the Gaza Strip settlements and from four northern West Bank settlements, Ganim and Kadim east of Jenin and Homesh and Sa-Nur southwest of it.
Infrastructure was removed and synagogues buried before the Israel Defense Force's final withdrawal.
Hundreds of Palestinians rushed to the old British fortress at Sa-Nur raised their flags sang, danced, chanted national slogans and prayed in a by mosque that settlers has used for Jewish religious studies.
The area nevertheless remains "Area C" for which Israel bears full responsibility.
Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmad Qureia said in Ramallah he wanted that area to revert to full Palestinian rule.
