WASHINGTON, June 18 (UPI) -- While John Bolton's nomination as U.S. envoy to the U.N. remains stalled in Congress several other new ambassadors will be easily confirmed next week.
Their confirmation has been brought forward in the hope that they will have taken up their respective posts by the Fourth of July, according to a U.S. official.
The new nominees are expected to include Eduardo Aguirre, the ambassador to Madrid, and California businessmen and Bush campaign contributors Ronald Spogli (Rome) and Robert Tuttle (London).
Tuttle's plum London assignment has been vacant for nearly three years: his predecessor, millionaire horse breeder Will Farish quit the job early amid criticism from the British press that he had been practically invisible.
