Wall collapses on Manhattan parkway

NEW YORK, May 13 (UPI) -- A 100-year-old, 75-foot retaining wall collapsed onto the Henry Hudson Parkway on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

No injuries were reported from the avalanche of construction materials or other debris Thursday afternoon, though the landslide covered roadways with tons of boulders, soil and trees, causing brutal traffic jams in the vicinity.

Road workers will use earth-moving equipment to clean up the mess through the weekend.
