DENVER, May 7 (UPI) -- An attorney representing three people removed from President George Bush's town hall Denver meeting is unsuccessfully asking the White House for documents.
Dan Recht, an attorney representing Karen Bauer, Leslie Weise and Alex Young, asked the White House April 8 not to destroy any documents or information relating to his clients' removal. He also asked all pertinent materials be turned over to him, the Denver Post reported Saturday.
A White House spokesman said he was not familiar with the request.
The three people were ordered removed from the Denver town hall March 21 meeting after they arrived in a car with a bumper sticker that said, "No more blood for oil."
They allege a man they believed to be with the Secret Service allowed them inside the building, but forced them to leave about 20 to 30 minutes later and threatened them with arrest, although they had caused no disruptions.
"Ultimately, we want to know who recruited staffers for this presidential event, who trained event staff to screen and remove citizens based on viewpoint, and who directed event staff to actually eject my clients," Recht said.
