Nichols: Third man aided Oklahoma bombing

WASHINGTON, May 4 (UPI) -- Imprisoned Oklahoma City bomber Terry Nichols has named a third man as an accomplice in the attack that killed 168 people in 1995.

In a letter written from his Colorado prison cell, Nichols names Arkansas gun collector Roger Moore as the man who supplied him and Timothy McVeigh with bomb components.

In the early stages of its investigation, the FBI grilled Moore because of his anti-government views and his close relationship with McVeigh. Moore steadfastly denied any involvement in the bombing and maintained before the explosion, he was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man who stole dozens of firearms and other weapons worth about $60,000 from his home.

In his letter, Nichols said ongoing FBI tests of the components found at his house in Herington, Kan., would support his allegation the material came from Moore and his friend, Karen Anderson.

FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza told the Los Angeles Times several materials he declined to identify were being examined for fingerprints and other evidence.

Nichols is serving multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole and McVeigh was executed in June 2001.
