PITTSBURGH, April 29 (UPI) -- Top transportation security officials at Pittsburgh International Airport are under investigation for fraud, intimidation and sexual harassment.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security initiated the investigation, which includes Robert Blose, who directs administration operations at the airport, after an internal review was conducted to address employee complaints, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.
Blose, TSA Assistant Federal Security Director Craig Martelle and Billl Rough, deputy assistant director for screening, were the main subjects of the internal investigation in February.
"This is character assassination of me for enforcing TSA policy," Martelle said, adding that the complaints were the result of unpopular schedule changes.
"Internal affairs exists because the TSA is committed to looking into any and all allegations of impropriety," said TSA spokeswoman Ann Davis. "We have a responsibility to listen to both sides of the story and make an assessment, but we have an effective review process in place, designed to ensure management remains accountable to the work force and the public."
