BAGHDAD, April 23 (UPI) -- The U.N. envoy to Iraq, Ashraf Kadi, met Saturday with Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Ibrahim al-Jaafari concerning problems facing the new government.

An official Iraqi statement said the talks with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan's envoy in Baghdad focused on "efforts to accommodate the basic political forces of the Iraqi people," in obvious reference to the Arab Sunnis.

The announcement of the new Cabinet was postponed several times as the main parliamentary blocs accused each other through the media of being responsible for this delay.

But politicians in Baghdad said they expected the final Cabinet list would be announced within the next 48 hours.
