Pacers trial dates set

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., April 23 (UPI) -- Trial dates have been set for the five Indiana Pacers players and four fans charged after the Nov. 19 fight at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Pacers players will be tried separately Aug. 1 before Judge Lisa Asadoorian of the 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills, the Detroit Free Press reported Saturday.

Ron Artest is scheduled to face the court first, followed by Anthony Johnson, David Harrison, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson. All five players are charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, which carries a maximum sentence of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.

The fans, William Paulson, John Ackerman, David Wallace, and John Green are also are charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. Paulson and Ackerman are scheduled to be tried together July 11. Wallace and Green are scheduled to be tried together July 15.
