7th-grader expelled for hit list

PALMETTO BAY, Fla., April 15 (UPI) -- A seventh-grader at Southwood Middle School in Palmetto Bay, Fla., was arrested for allegedly posting a hit list online.

Students told police that the boy had a list posted on his online profile of 20 people he wanted to kill with a cheese grater, believing the reference was to a type of gun, WTVI-TV, Miami reported.

"We moved immediately to suspend the student and take him out of the school and moved to have him expelled. We are proceeding with the expulsion and cooperating with the police, who are investigating," said Joseph Garcia of Miami-Dade Public Schools.
