Family accepts Terri Schiavo's death

MIAMI, April 1 (UPI) -- Terri Schiavo's parents have accepted her death as God's will, their attorney David Gibbs said Friday.

But the ill will between the 41-year-old woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and her husband, Michael Schiavo, did not abate after Terri's death Thursday, CNN reported. She died nearly two weeks after her feeding tube was removed under with permission of the courts.

Michael Schiavo's brother, Brian, said, "If you don't think my brother has been vilified from Day One, then I tell you you'd better study the record."

Schiavo's parents attended a memorial service Thursday night and a funeral is planned for next week, almost certainly without the body. Michael Schiavo plans to take the body back to his wife's birthplace, Buck's County, Pa. She will be cremated and buried.

An autopsy is being conducted and a final medical examiner's report is not expected for weeks.
