WASHINGTON, March 19 (UPI) -- U.S. Chief Justice William Rehnquist might return to the bench next week, the Washington Post reported Saturday.
Rehnquist, 80, has not appeared at oral arguments since late October when he began undergoing treatment for anaplastic thyroid cancer.
Earlier this week Rehnquist presided over a two-hour private meeting of the U.S. Judicial Conference, a federal judges' body that gathers twice a year at the Supreme Court. He then appeared in good spirits and moved without assistance.
