FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio, March 16 (UPI) -- A Fairview Park, Ohio, man pleaded innocent Wednesday to charges of killing his neighbor's dog, WEWS-TV Cleveland reported.

George Taips, 84, of Fairview Park was allegedly angry at the toy poodle for barking. Police said he killed the dog and then dumped the body into the Rocky River.

Police said Taips had made threatening phone calls to a woman he believed to be the owner, but he called the wrong person.

He has been charged with theft, cruelty to animals, cruelty against a companion animal, menacing and telecommunications harassment.
