About 125 killed by car bomb in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A suicide car bomb killed at least 125 people Monday at a government building in Hilla, Iraq, where police recruits were waiting to get physicals.

The bombing, which occurred near a busy marketplace, also injured more than 150 others, CNN reported.

The victims of the attack had gathered at a medical center to receive medical certificates required for police and state jobs, a police spokesman told the BBC.

A second car bomb also exploded about 15 miles to the north of Hilla in Musayyib, but Iraq's Interior Ministry said there have been no reports of injuries.

Eight people were killed and at least two injured Sunday when a bomb exploded inside a municipal building in Hamam-al-Alil in northern Iraq, multinational forces officials said.
