EDGEWOOD, Ky., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- An unborn baby whose mother was attacked by a Kentucky woman seeking to take the child as her own has been born by Caesarean section and is doing well.
Sarah Brady, 26, of Covington, Ohio, delivered a 7-pound, 4-ounce girl Wednesday afternoon at a hospital in Edgewood with the child's father, Scott Hatton, at her side, the Cincinnati Post reported Thursday.
"The mother and daughter are fine," hospital spokesman Karla Webb said. "They are now resting, and the mother does not wish to be disturbed."
The girl, Mckaila Grace, is Brady's first child.
Police say Katie Smith, 22, of Fort Mitchell, Ky., lured Brady to her apartment last week with a ruse. The two fought and Smith was killed. Her body was cremated, and her family had a private memorial service for her Monday.
