CAIRO, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Libyan leader, Col. Moammar Gadhafi, Thursday met in Cairo and discussed the assassination of Rafik Hariri.

An official source said Gadhafi, who arrived in the Egyptian capital on an unannounced visit, reviewed with Mubarak the possible fallout from the terrorist bombing that killed the former Lebanese prime minister Monday.

"The talks covered as well the efforts aimed at ending violence between Israel and the Palestinians and the situation in Iraq," the source said.

An Arab diplomatic source said Gadhafi hopes Mubarak will use his good offices to settle the dispute between Libya and Saudi Arabia caused by Riyadh's accusations Tripoli planned to assassinate Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah last year.
