Train crash kills more than 50 in India

KANAN, India, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A train rammed into a trailer carrying wedding party guests at a railroad crossing in India Thursday, killing more than 50 people.

The crash occurred at an unattended railroad crossing near the village of Kanan in the western state of Maharashtra, the BBC reported.

The trailer was being pulled across the crossing by a tractor when the collision occurred.

Police said all the dead were on the trailer. It was not known how many more were injured in the incident.
