WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- A U.S. Army OH-58 helicopter crashed Thursday in Afghanistan just north of Shindand in Herat Province., U.S. Central Command announced.
Both pilots on board the aircraft received non-life threatening injuries.
The crash was not a results of any hostile action, according to the pilots.
This would be the 27th accident involving an OH-58 in the last two fiscal years, according to Army data. There were 11 serious accidents involving the Kiowa helicopter over the same period, resulting in eight deaths.
