Ken Bigley memorial service held

LIVERPOOL, England, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Britain's prime minister participated Saturday in a memorial service for murdered Iraqi hostage Kenneth Bigley, at the request of Bigley's family.

The Anglican service in Liverpool included Tony Blair reading selections from the Bible, the BBC reported Saturday.

About 300 people listened as Blair read a selection from St. Paul's first letter to the Corinthians: "Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

The body of the 62-year-old Bigley, abducted by Muslim extremists in Iraq, has never been found and his family has not been able to hold a funeral.
