Bush in tiny New Hampshire, huge Ohio

MANCHESTER, N.H., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- President Bush, showing a state with a small number of electoral votes could turn the election, is in New Hampshire to kick off the last campaign weekend.

New Hampshire is worth four electoral votes out of the 270 needed to secure the presidency, but with all indicators -- polls, computer models, pundit divination -- showing another very tight race, every vote is considered vital.

Bush begins the day in Manchester, N.H., and then visits Portsmouth. He also has a pair of Ohio events set -- the third time in three days he has visited the Buckeye State trying to win its more substantial 20 electoral votes.

The president will be battling, not only Democratic Party rival Sen. John Kerry and his constant attacks on why Bush should not be re-elected, but a spate of bad press. There are still questions over when some 380 tons of high explosives went missing in Iraq and the FBI is investigating whether Halliburton -- the former employer of Bush's running mate -- was improperly given Iraq reconstruction contracts.
