OTTAWA, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Ontario's attorney general plans to introduce legislation that would make the province the first in Canada to ban pit bulls.
Michael Bryant called the dogs "ticking time bombs," the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reports.

Under his plan, no new pit bulls could be brought into Ontario. Those who own them would be required to keep them on a leash and wearing a muzzle and would have to get them spayed or neutered.
"We cannot have these animals walking the streets, the fields, or the family rooms of Ontario," Bryant said.
