Bigley family supports anti-war march

LONDON, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A British anti-war march scheduled for Sunday in London has been endorsed by the family of murdered hostage Ken Bigley.

The Stop The War Coalition have said they hope up to 50,000 people will be at the event, which will call for a pull-out of troops from Iraq, the BBC reported Saturday.

Kenneth Bigley, 62, an engineer from Liverpool, was beheaded Oct. 9 by rebel Iraqi forces. His brother, Paul, has urged people to join the march.

"For Ken's sake and for the sake of everyone in Iraq I ask you to make your feelings known to our government, to protest and to join the demonstration. The more people raise their voices, the safer we will all be," he said.

The march also marks the end of the London European Social Forum, a three-day event highlighting war, racism and corporate power.

The protest was co-organized by CND and the Muslim Council of Britain.
