MIAMI, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Union protesters opposed to President Bush's overtime policies demonstrated at Republican campaign offices at Miami, Tampa and Orlando, Fla.
The demonstrations were part of a protest at 17 cities in key swing states in this year's presidential election, The Miami Herald reported.
In Miami, a group of about 100 protesters entered Bush campaign headquarters then rushed onto the busy street outside, tying up traffic for about 10 minutes.
The demonstrators said they were protesting Bush administration efforts to eliminate overtime for certain jobs.
Tucker Fletcher, a senior GOP campaign adviser, blamed the events on an atmosphere of "hate" created by the Kerry campaign.
"This just shows the lengths they will go to try to harass and intimidate people who support President Bush," he said.
Kerry campaign spokesman Matthew Miller called Fletcher's remarks "outrageous." He said protesters had no affiliation with the Kerry campaign.
