U.S. reps. to uprising anniversary named

WASHINGTON, July 27 (UPI) -- U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell will lead a presidential delegation to ceremonies commemorating the Warsaw uprising, the White House said Tuesday.

Besides Powell, the delegation will include U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe, former U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Ed Derwinski, and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.

The delegation will participate in events honoring the memory of the gallant Poles who participated in 1944's Warsaw uprising against their Nazi oppressors.

Also included in the delegation are Detroit Archbishop Adam Cardinal Maide, businessman Ronald Lauder, and Chester Partyka, the former president of the Polish-American Congress of Ohio.
