Sharpton ready to be God's tool vs. Bush

BOSTON, July 26 (UPI) -- The Rev. Al Sharpton is prepared to be used as God's tool against President George W. Bush, the Boston Globe reported Monday.

"God used Moses against Pharaoh, God used David against the Philistines. If God used Shadrach against Nebuchadnezzar, he can use Al Sharpton against George Bush," Sharpton, a former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, told a Sunday congregation at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Boston, the Globe said.

Sharpton is due to address the Democratic National Convention at Boston's FleetCenter Wednesday. He failed to win a single Democratic primary contest but was widely praised for waging an intelligent and constructive campaign.

Sharpton told his audience at Morning Star that Bush had tried to charm him when they met last week at the National Urban League conference in Detroit. "He stood there and tried to be nice and joke with me," he said. "I knew he was campaigning hard when he tried to be nice to me."
