U.S. to be flexible in N.Korea nuke talks

MOSCOW, July 20 (UPI) -- The United States could be flexible and hopes for concrete results in upcoming nuclear talks with North Korea, a senior U.S. diplomat said Monday in Moscow.

The American government is ready to be flexible in the fourth round of six-nation talks on North Korea's nuclear program, due to be held in Beijing in September, U.S. Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow told the Interfax news agency.

Vershbow said concrete results could be achieved if all the parties involved in the talks realized that the complete denuclearization of the entire Korean peninsula was the ultimate aim and final goal of the negotiating process, Interfax said.

Representatives of North Korea, South Korea, Russia, China, the United States and Japan will participate in the Beijing talks.
