WASHINGTON, July 13 (UPI) -- The Democratic National Committee Tuesday announced its lineup of speakers for its convention, whose theme is "Stronger at home, respected in the world."
Former presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson are among the speakers scheduled for the Democratic National Convention, top DNC officials told a news conference in Washington.
Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., was not scheduled to speak, but DNC officials said it was likely she would.
Richardson, chairman of the convention, said he was pleased Ron Reagan would be speaking at the event, adding the speaking engagement was a "mutual agreement" between Reagan and party officials.
Rounding out the list of speakers were Reps. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones of Ohio, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Bob Menendez of New Jersey; Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts; Christie Vilsack, wife of Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack; Gov. Janet Napolitano of Arizona; Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley and Retired Marine Lt. Col. Steve Brozak of New Jersey.
Teresa Heinz Kerry and Kerry's two daughters and two stepsons will speak, as will vice presidential hopeful John Edwards' wife, Elizabeth Edwards, and Kerry's Swift Boat Crewmates.
