Four Marines killed near Baghdad

BAGHDAD, June 21 (UPI) -- A quick reaction force found four U.S. Marines dead Monday in Ramadi, west of Iraq's capital of Baghdad, CNN reported.

U.S. Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt in Baghdad said the quick reaction force found the Marines' bodies after they failed to report to their commanders at a scheduled time.

"After we've notified the families, I think we're going to be a little more forthcoming on what happened up there," Kimmitt said.

One of the dead was identified as Staff Sgt. Marvin Best, 33, of Prosser, Wash. He was based at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

The other three were from a different base and have not yet been identified.
