CANBERRA, Australia, June 5 (UPI) -- Australia will give whatever help it can to United States' plans to re-arrange military bases around the world, Radio Australia reported.
The report said U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is talking to allies about changing the basing strategy so U.S. troops can move quickly across regions.

Rumsfeld has had talks in Singapore with Australia's Defense Minister Robert Hill, about the proposal for a combined training centre in Australia, the report said.
Hill said it's in Australia's interests to see the United States keep a strong military capability in the Asia Pacific region.
