TBILISI, Georgia, June 3 (UPI) -- A top level team of Russian experts has been advising Georgian officials on sweeping tax reforms, RosBusinessConsulting said Thursday.

The team led by Russian Deputy Economy Minister Mikhail Dmitriyev advised the Georgians on reforms in Value Added Tax, social, income and real estate taxes as well as export and import tariffs, RBC said.

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania said work on revising his country's Tax Code will be finished by the end of this month, RBC said.

"The new Tax Code suggests lower tax rates and a smaller number of taxes as well," the news agency said. "The code is aimed at enhancing the development of Georgian business and attracting foreign investments."
