DETROIT, June 2 (UPI) -- Michigan prosecutors Wednesday began presenting their case against a man charged in the murder and dismemberment of a drug-addicted prostitute.

Jeffrey McCutcheon of Rochester was arrested in April 2003 for allegedly strangling Lisa Trochio, keeping her body for three months before chopping it up and tossing it, piece by piece, into the Clinton River, the Detroit Free Press reported.

The crime shocked Clay Township, a rural St. Clair County community of 9,000.

It also saddened those who knew the twice divorced high school dropout who left several children and other relatives.
