The blast killed five Iraqi passersby and shattered windows in nearby buildings. No one in the convoy was hurt.

Two car bombs exploded almost simultaneously Tuesday, in front of the Baghdad offices of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan led by Jalal Talabani, and in the city of Biji north of the Iraqi capital, killing more than 10 Iraqis and wounding dozens.

The mounting violence coincided with Tuesday's announcement of the new Iraqi interim government under Iyad Allawi which will rule Iraq after June 30.
