Twisters, heavy rain hit Kentucky, Indiana

LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 28 (UPI) -- Heavy rains and tornadoes have hammered Kentucky and southern Indiana, leaving some 40,000 without power, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported Friday.

No deaths or injuries were reported from Thursday's wild weather.

In Indiana, tornadoes dipped down in several spots. In Kentucky twisters, either reported or confirmed, hit Henry Lexington and Pulaski counties.

About 13,000 were left powerless in Indiana, and 25,000 were without power in Kentucky.

Widespread flooding was reported in parts of Kentucky.
