Bomb threat diverts Boston-bound flight

BOSTON, May 28 (UPI) -- A bomb threat found aboard an American Airlines flight to Boston forced an emergency landing, the Boston Herald reported Friday.

"The pilot requested an emergency landing because one of the flight crew members found a note saying there was a bomb on the plane," Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Ann Davis said.

No bomb was found by late Thursday night, but crews continued to check the plane and its contents, the Herald said.

The flight, American Airlines Flight 306, departed from Dallas but landed at Nashville International Airport at 4:40 p.m.

All passengers were taken off the plane and put up in Nashville hotels Thursday night. They had to wait for a flight to Boston Friday because bad weather prevented them from completing the trip.
