One dead in BWI plance crash

LINTHICUM, Md., May 14 (UPI) -- A twin-engine plane crashed Friday east of Baltimore-Washington International Airport, killing the pilot but causing no other injuries.

A spokeswoman for BWI told WNBC-TV that a privately owned MU-2 crashed about 7:25 a.m. while on approach to the airport from Philadelphia. The pilot, who has not been identified, was the only person on board.

Investigators have not determined why the plane went down in a residential area just outside BWI grounds. Plane wreckage could be seen on a narrow road with houses on either side.

Operations at BWI were not disrupted by the incident, the spokeswoman said.
