MONTREAL, May 14 (UPI) -- Montreal police arrested four men and one women Friday in last month's firebombing of a Jewish school.
The library at the United Talmud Torah elementary school was destroyed by a firebomb April 5, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
A note left at the scene said the attack was in retaliation for Israel's killing of Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin.
At the time, the school was closed for Passover and there were no injuries.
Prime Minister Paul Martin had called it an attack against all Canadians.
"This is not my Canada, this is not our Canada," he said the day of the fire. "We must utterly condemn this cowardly and racist act."
In March, B'nai Brith Canada reported that there were almost 600 cases of anti-Semitic violence, harassment and vandalism across the country last year, up more than 27 percent from 2002.
