Wesley Clark forms PAC to oust Bush

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., May 6 (UPI) -- Retired Gen. Wesley Clark said Thursday he has formed a political action committee to derail George Bush's try for re-election and change U.S. foreign policy.

Clark, who briefly ran for the Democratic Party's nomination for president, sent an e-mail message to people who supported that campaign seeking support for "WesPAC -- Securing America's Future."

"WesPAC is a results-oriented political action committee with two central objections," the announcement stated, "First, to replace the current radical administration and its political allies; and second, to provide leadership in national security and to advocate for a strong, sound foreign policy."

Clark pointed out that he had been making appearances with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., and the presumptive Democratic Party nominee for president.

He said WesPAC would support the "emergence of the Democratic Party as the party of national security" that would use "force only as a last resort."

The Web site for the PAC is www.wespac2004.com.
