Greek officials originally insisted upon bringing their own security force to guard the torch, something that would have violated Australian law. Now, New South Wales police officerswill be the security force during the two-day run through NSW and Victoria, while Greek organizers will take care of logistics.

"The bottom line is that on June 4, Sydney will welcome back the Olympic flame as we welcomed it in our very successful games four years ago," NSW Premier Bob Carr told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
