Suspect charged in LA model's 1992 slaying

LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives said Tuesday they had charged a suspect in the 1992 murder of a model who disappeared while on a photo shoot.

David Rademaker, 40, pleaded innocent Tuesday in the alleged abduction and murder of Kimberly Pandelios, whose remains were found in the Angeles National Forest more than a year after she left her Northridge home for a modeling assignment.

Detectives told reporters a recent review of the case turned up new information as well as a new witness that led them back to Rademaker, who had experience working with models.

Pandelios' disappearance came a few years prior to the murder of Linda Sobek, a former Los Angeles Raiders cheerleader who disappeared while on a modeling shoot in 1995. Her body was also found in the Angeles National Forest.

Photographer Charles Rathbun was convicted of her murder and was investigated for a time in the Pandelios case.
