Donald Trump approved by town council

PALM BEACH, Fla., April 14 (UPI) -- Donald Trump has received the permission of the Palm Beach, Fla., Town Council to hold as many barbecues on the beach at Mar-a-Lago Club as he desires.

Trump visited the council meeting Tuesday on his way back to New York for the final show of the season of The Apprentice, the Palm Beach Post reported.

He also got permission to build a kitchen to serve the barbecue. Now employees won't have to ferry the food in golf carts from the kitchens near the main house to the beach.

"I just wanted to make sure everything worked out fine," he said.

The private club is located on the 18-acre former Marjorie Merriweather Post estate. He bought it in 1985 for $10 million and spent millions restoring it.

Trump's relationship with the council has been stormy, starting with his efforts to establish the club in the early 1990s, but since it was created in 1993, the council appears to be pleased.

"We have a much better relationship now," Trump said.
