Kerrey: Iraq in danger of civil war

WASHINGTON, April 8 (UPI) -- Sept. 11 commission Member Bob Kerrey, addressing national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, said he fears military tactics in Iraq could lead to civil war.

"I'm terribly worried that the military tactics are going to do a number of things and they're all bad," the former Nebraska senator said.

"I think the military operations are dangerously off track," Kerrey said, adding that the U.S.-led coalition forces currently engaged in Iraq were "largely a Christian army in a Muslim nation."

Rice made no reply to the commissioner's comments.
