Unknown group claims Fallujah attack

BAGHDAD, April 2 (UPI) -- A previously unknown group took Friday claimed responsibility for the gory violence in Fallujah this week that killed four U.S. civilians.

"This is a gift from the people of Fallujah to the people of Palestine and the family of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin who was assassinated by the criminal Zionists," a statement from the "Brigades of Martyr Ahmed Yassin" said.

"We advise the U.S. forces to withdraw from Iraq and we advise the families of the American soldiers and the contractors not to come to Iraq."

Yassin was the spiritual leader of Hamas -- an Islamic group bent on the destruction of Israel and return of a sovereign Islamic Palestinian state -- killed by an Israeli missile attack outside a mosque in the Gaza strip.

The four security guards were killed Wednesday in Fallujah while escorting a convoy of food supplies to a military installation. Jubilant crowds of Iraqis then dragged their mutilated bodies through the streets of the restive city.
