Saudi CP vows to crush terrorists

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, April 1 (UPI) -- Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah vowed at a dinner in Vienna to crack down on terrorists, whom he described as "a handful of stray people."

"Islam, the religion which we are proud to belong to and consider as our constitution is a religion of peace, love and tolerance," the Saudi Press Agency quoted Abdullah as saying.

"The terrorists who are spilling the blood of innocent people are nothing but a handful of stray whom Islam and Muslims do not recognize," Abdullah said in a speech at a dinner banquet hosted in his honor by Austrian President Thomas Klestil in Vienna Wednesday.

Abdullah arrived in Austria on Wednesday on a three-day official visit.

Saudi authorities have initiated a security campaign last year in search of terrorists involved in a spate of bombings that killed as many as 52 people in Riyadh last May and November.
