DHAKA, Bangladesh, March 23 (UPI) -- Vietnam Tuesday assured Bangladesh of its full support for Dhaka's bid to join a regional forum of Association of South East Asian Nations.
Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong told Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at a meeting that Dhaka and Hanoi could work together to promote inter-regional cooperation.
Vietnam assured its help in promoting Bangladesh's bid to enter a regional forum of Association of South East Asian Nations.
The two nations also signed a treaty on avoidance of double taxation and agricultural cooperation and a protocol on cultural exchange during Luong's Dhaka visit.
Both sides agreed to hold meeting of the Bangladesh-Vietnam Joint Economic Commission on a regular basis to sketch out a roadmap to perk up trade and investment, The Daily Star reported.
