ANKARA, Turkey, March 17 (UPI) -- Turkey is reportedly considering a proposal Wednesday for the co-production of the U.S. military Black Hawk helicopters.
Middle East Newsline reported the proposal involves the joint manufacture and assembly of the S-70 Black Hawk utility helicopter at the government-controlled Turkish Aerospace Industries.
The Black Hawk is manufactured and marketed by Sikorsky Aircraft.
Sikorsky wants TAI to become a co-producer, with the two companies jointly marketing it to third-party countries.
Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union appeared to be a major marketing target, MENL said.
