Simpson ignores court order

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- O.J. Simpson says he does not intend to honor a Missouri court order to surrender money earned during a weekend autograph-signing gig in St. Louis.

Simpson charged about $100 per autograph during a personal appearance Saturday, KTVI-TV reported Monday.

The same day, a St. Louis County judge ordered Simpson to give a portion of the money to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, the two people he was accused of killing a decade ago.

Simpson was found innocent in the 1994 deaths, but a civil court found him liable and ordered him to pay their families about $33 million.

Goldman's mother lives in the St. Louis-area and said she was outraged Simpson would peddle his autographs in her backyard.

But Simpson told KTVI he was paid in advance in Florida and has no intention of sharing his money with the Goldmans or Browns.

"I said I was innocent," he said. "I would do what the law says, but outside of that, I wouldn't go out of my way to give them a dime."
