Suspicious fire guts south Wales farmhouse

CARDIFF, Wales, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Three people have been killed in a suspicious fire that gutted a farmhouse in south Wales in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A woman, who escaped from the blaze and ran half a mile to the nearest village to get help, has been treated at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, the BBC reported.

Her condition was listed as "stable."

Firefighters found the building fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

"On the arrival of the first fire appliance the fire was seen to be emitting from all the windows," a firefighter who was on the scene reported.

Three fire engines and 20 firefighters were involved in tackling the blaze.

Specialist teams from South Wales Fire Service have been brought in to help with the investigation the cause of the fire.
