AMMAN, Jordan, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Jordan's top lawyer urged Arab colleagues to set up a committee for defending captured Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
Hussein Majali, the chief of the syndicate of Jordanian lawyers, told UPI a committee comprising Arab lawyers should be formed to take up Saddam's defense at an anticipated trial for committing crimes against humanity.

He said he will address a letter in that regard to the Union of Arab Lawyers, underscoring the need to ensure a fair trial for Saddam and securing his right to defend himself.
